D___, you're the best! I thought I should let you know that after our SEO conversation, I did *not* create landing pages. (Well, I started to draft a couple of bio-type pages, which feels ethical enough - everyone has a bio page or two - but then simply forgot to post them. Maybe, maybe, now I'll get around to it.) I DID, however, change how I submit my name when commenting on other blogs. Like this one.

Who wouldn't want to be Lucky Christine? Damn car.

Interesting but I'd say that by the time emails aren't getting opened you're probably too late to try and up the engagement so my advice would differ slightly...

1. Your emails should always aim to be engaging. I hate it when emails are simply lists of random products - if you want to do this, make it opt-in, I can think of only three retailers I want these sorts of emails from and none of them are Amazon, HMV or Virgin (nee. Zavvy) thank you very much.

2. Monitor clicks and multiple opens because if a consumer stops opening then unless you can write the best subject line ever you've lost that consumer. Don't take opens as engagement either - I open all my emails simply to mark them as read.
